"Icons of Music"
auction in New York City, which raised 2.4 million dollars for musicians
who lost equipment in Hurricane Katrina,
concluded with a performance by New Orleans R&B legend, Allen
Toussaint, and Guns N' Roses
guitarist, Ron "Bumblefoot"
Thal.
The
stand-out piece of memorabilia in the auction was Jimi
Hendrix's 1966 Red Fender
Mustang, which sold for $410,000. Other notable items were Music
Rising co-founder, The Edge's
1975 Cream Gibson Les Paul Custom,
a Gibson Music
Rising Les Paul signed by the Rolling
Stones, and Emeril Lagasse's
signed green Baldwin R1 Artists
Grand piano.
